**2 Rounds**Results Handicap League 25/07/15

Colchester, Essex-(AP) A week away from the 2015 Essex Open and the UK's two "Down East" Disc Golf Clans met up of The University of Essex to "dial it in" at the Uni's Par 60 championship course. Paul Cooper and the Essex Crew will be giving away over £1100 in plastic the weekend of August 1st and 2nd at one of the BDGA's richest Tour stops. One major change in OB's from the previous years to be noted is hole 4 the little Par 3 down to the water which will not be designated/marked/roped as an island hole. The front branches on the large tree guarding the forehand and lefty backhand shots has not been trimmed and dangles about three to four feet off the middle of the fairway and the Essex DGC doesn't wish to press the Uni for anymore gardening straight after Graduation Ceremonies. One other note the graduation pavilion on hole 3's fairway is still 80% erect and it makes this writer wonder if with all that flattened/dead grass if a Roller may be the order of experimentation next weekend at The Open.
With the coming disc golf festival looming and the rest of the BDGA dreaming of victories in the Saturday evening slew of extra free events including the Ring of Fire, KanJam and MTA comps a total of 13 BDGA Faithful made the trek from as far as Croydon to pursue excellence in the art of disc golf.
Neal Clifton brought along a new disc golf friend in Kevin Moth to battle the Old School disc golfers in Dave Allaker and Steve Kornmuller and the rising stars Paul McCullough and Tom Potter. Could Clifton's new "Karma Purple"(god I love that colour scheme!!!) C3 Picasso change his ways at the Essex Handicap where he has never placed or won in the two years he has faithfully made the trip?

**Break for Lunch, Tom Potter has to leave, Paul Cooper comes to play the 2nd round**
So after one round Paul McCullough seems to have healed from a major injury to his collar bone which had severe bruising just two months ago. The Old School was well represented by Dave Allaker breaking in two new discs and doing a wonderful job of mentoring/coaching Tom Potter the whole way around, really wonderful to see Dave explain the what's and why's of disc golf to Tom and hopefully Tom passes this along to his brother Ollie and their other mate who play mornings after work.
Neal Clifton also shined during the overcast windy morning and after a poor effort at the previous two handicaps turned things around and just at the right time just seven days before he defends his AdAm Title he won last year at Essex over photo bomber extraordinaire Richard Hajek.

**2nd Round** (12)
Tee Off 230pm, last group in the clubhouse at 530. I broke the 12 golfers into four threesomes to speed play and thanks to Alex Torelli who has been battling back problems for staying with his group after DNF'ing after hole 12.
Weather: 20 under the clouds and 23 in the sun, winds not as persistent but still gusting to 20mph with more and more instances of dead calm.

Congradulations to Neal Clifton for his winning effort all day and many, many thanks to all who came out. Its always great to meet new golfers in kevin moth from Croydon and hopefully the Potters, Jon Lau and Scott Rickards let us know how we can help them in their games.

Unless things change I will be the only person selling discs at the Essex Open so if you throw Innova, Lat64 or Westside among others I highly encourage you to order now from the below.

I will have Discraft(Z and X Plastics for £9 each and deals on multiples), Gateway(I just got in 30+ Wizards in all plastics) and another Innova Love Child called Legacy Discs out of California(google Steve Rico among others) and Legacy's Outlaw is a dead ringer for a Destroyer.

Oh shoot I forgot to give Cooper some of those brands to add to sponsorship(missed you and your help Stoddy!).
