MODS #11 Markeaton Park Derby

December 10th will be MODS #11 at Markeaton Park in Derby - Registration and other details to come once all confirmed with the council

It's a stunning course layout, similar set up to Bedworth but longer, lots of elevation, less nasty rough and stands of beautiful mature trees in what was once the parkland estate of a country house. Manicured grass throughout.

It will be playing to MVP black holes this year but in development stage of a permanent course there for start of the season 2017.

Course may change slightly but currently a par 64 layout. It will be an early start to make sure we finish before the light goes, aiming for a 9 oclock tee off at the latest.

Should be breakfast and lunch available at the cafe on site, details to follow.

Hopefully it may be a qualifier for the 2017 British Tour Championships as well if the board are ok with this as an early tester.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow! Attached is a document (can't work out how to attach a PDF to this? anyone?) with directions for parking, hole descriptions and a couple of maps, please have a look before players meeting tomorrow to acclimatise yourself. The course is big, some other hole baskets are in view from the tees, make sure you are throwing to the correct one. Andrews Map is very good and all players will have a copy.

We will hopefully have the course set up to play by about the time the clubhouse opens at 8, although this might be optimistic! There's 18 baskets, tee signs a couple of drop zones a number of mandos and a lot of disc golf warning signs to put up, if anyone is there early and fancies finding us out on the course to help out it would be very much appreciated!

Please remember above all else that this is a public park and other park users have right of way! DO NOT THROW UNTIL THE WAY IS CLEAR!

I'm hoping to receive an order from Trilogy today, we have full stock of Prodiscus and will have MVP and Prodigy in stock as well.

Big thanks to Rich, Andrew, Mark, Greg and everyone else that helped set up/think k myst have own the course yesterday and/or was involved in another successful MODS event

Loved the course - great to play par 4s and have the challenge of nailing those long approaches Also enjoyed the long down hill holes where could launch a throw and watch it fly into the distance - was no wind so good day for blizzard plastic!!

Had play in this park before - number of years ago met up with few locals - think must have played to trees Some different holes but do remember playing couple big downhillers
