New forum members - PLEASE READ
Hi, and welcome to the BDGA Forum!
Due to issues with spammers (
grrr), we have disabled posting for new members on all forums except the New Users - post here forum, so we can welcome genuine new users to the board whilst filtering out the spammers.
So, introduce yourself, tell us where you are from and how you heard of disc golf, all those lovely things. Once you have posted 3 or more times in this area, you will be moved to the regular user group that allows you to post on the rest of the board. In the meantime, you can still browse the other forums and read about what is going on...
Thanks for your patience, and as for the spammers, go forth and copulate...

Yep, but they'll only be able to do it here, and the they're easy to spot and delete. It's trying to find a balance between protecting against them but still allowing users to join up.
Anywho, I think I've closed the door on the current lot with a few tweaks to the registration process, so I'm opening registration back up again but maintaining this area going forwards

Hey guys I'm Jared I live in Marlow anyone around here or near me to go throw some? Just moved here from Oklahoma in the states.
Re: New forum members - PLEASE READ
Hi Jared! You're probably about equidistant from the two biggest UK clubs, http://www.croydondiscgolf.com and http://www.quarrypark.co.uk. I actually helped put in a course in Marlow in 2006, just a 9 hole pitch and putt at http://www.longridge.org.uk. There's no mention of it on their site though, so I don't know if it's still there!

Hi Jared,
Welcome to the UK!
There are a couple of up and coming clubs in Basingstoke and Reading who play regularly to traveller baskets, they organise mostly through their Facebook pages and are hoping to get baskets in the ground soon:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/434717716567041/
https://www.facebook.com/groups/259235390876082/
there are a group of players that play regularly to traveller baskets in Oxford and surrounding areas:
http://oxdisc.blogspot.co.uk/
Your nearest basketed courses are all about an hour away.
Quarry Park http://www.quarrypark.co.uk - this is straight up the M40 motorway about an hours drive and has 4 different course layouts including 2 championship standard layouts on privately owned land, beautiful place to play with trees, rivers and a tiny bit of elevation. We have our own forum which can be linked to through the website and also a facebook group, there are always people playing on the weekends that would be happy to join up with you, a train goes from High Wycombe to Leamington and the course is about 2 miles from the train station - if you get in contact with people here or on the facebook group first I am sure someone can give you a lift from the station. There are green fees at QP of £6 a round and I think £10 for a days play now - costs are on the website:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/quarryparkdiscgolf/
Lee Valley - not sure if there is a local player base here yet - http://www.visitleevalley.org.uk/en/con ... lf-course/ it is a relatively new 9 hole course.
Croydon - Croydon disc golf club http://www.croydondiscgolf.com a championship standard course on the south side of London - beautiful course with a good mix of challenging Parkland holes, large local player base and always someone out playing Saturdays and Sundays and Wednesday league nights in the summer.

Alright great! Thanks for all the info! I've joined the Facebook groups and hopefully they'll except my response quick enough to be able to play this weekend! Haven't played in about 6 months so I'm itching to get out there!

If you check out the Croydon site they have regular rounds on Sat & Sun mornings, have a look on their forum for times. QP will have players there all weekend I expect, we're a bit lazier about arranging set times

So... I just tried adding a post about the birdie bash, and it wouldn't let me. When I went to 'submit' it went to a page sating something along the lines of 'there is no such topic'. Is this just me, or something to do with the new restrictions on posting? Off to work now, but I'll try again this evening!
Re: New forum members - PLEASE READ
I am a new user not a spammer. I have a deep set love for disc golf imbedded in my embryo. Can I go on the big forum with everyone else now?
