New disc golf course

Post by Brude » Fri Feb 10, 2012 8:09 pm

Has anyone heard that there is a new disc golf course in Anglesey. I got notification of this from 'Toy News' (don't ask) the other day. It is at a National Trust place called Plas Newydd. I've been on their website but there is no mention. I've just had an email back to confirm that there is a frisbee disc at their place (I think they may have built it in conjunction with Wham-O)

thank goodness we can start playing the sport properly now! thanks wham-O

I'm off to throw away all of my discs that fly 100+ metres in predictable lines and invest in some super understable flying toys, it's so the future!

I was approached by them last year, followed it up a couple of times and got no repsonse, good to see they've gone ahead with it.

If wham-o are up for sponsoring things surely that's a good thing.

The 9 Disc Golf targets were supplied by me. I am yet to find out how long the course is and type of discs they're using. Will add to the course directory when I have more info.

It's a short wooded course, surounded by a Ha Ha wall in a grade 1 listed garden araea. Length of holes range from 30 to 70m. Discs available to hire, £5 deposit. Currently using 160g catch discs, considering a switch to light-weight soft putters. If someone can please remind me how to add to the course directory, I'll put this on there.

Couple of other stories relating to it. Thenk the lord for Wham -O (insert sarcasatic smiley here) Be interesting to see if they do genuinely intend to relaunch something over here, would it be worth getting in touch with them re the European champs if they are?

"It is estimated that there are 2 million Frisbee Golfers in the U.S.A alone. "

Wow I wonder why the PDGA hasn't signed them up to play Disc Golf??? :o

p.s. I tweeted in a mildly sarcastic way about this (sorry) and got the following response...
@transonicmoth Sounds like you also do Frisbee golf, is that right? If so, do tell us about it, we'd be happy to run a story :o)
I responded...
@ToyNewsOnline I play "Disc" Golf competitively along with about 100 others in this country and 1000's around the world. #BDGA
and
@ToyNewsOnline lookup bdga.org.uk pdga.com what would be a good angle on a story for you?
But haven't had anything back. Wonder if it is worth checking their website contacts?

If Wham-O is sponsoring, then there must be a real disc golf course.

Jorgea, not sure what a massive list of spam links was doing in your post, have deleted for you.
