British Open 2010
As announced at the National Matchplay last week I have agreed with Adam and Bruce to run Mull next year and The British Open at Beaminster.
Mull will be first weekend in May - 1st and 2nd.
Beaminster will be July 2nd-4th.
Invitations will go out in the next week or so for Mull and few weeks later for Whitcombe as I want to attract as many European players as possible to both. One advantage is that BDGA have agreed to have British Open in 2011 in Mull and I want to build on last year and next years events to make Mull 2011 as successful as possible.
British Open on Mull 2011 will be April 29th-May 1st
Prizemoney for Whitcombe and Mull 2011 will be substantial and there will be the introduction of a large cash prize for the Ace pot at all three events.
Mull 2010 will offer minimum £250 pot, Beaminster £500 and Mull 2011 £1,000. The pot, which players will buy into and add to, will be shared by any player that aces any hole during regular stroke play.
So put dates in your diary - and look for recruiting postings for staff for all three events.

Excellent news from PDGA Europe, the British Open 2010 has been named as one of the USDGC qualifiers!
This will add buckets of prestige to the event, and should attract the best touring pros

This is the situation for qualifying for USDGC 2010 from British Open 2010 at Beaminster. This message is from Jonathan Poole USDGC co-ordinator:
Hey Charlie,
Thanks for writing and for your support. We look forward to having the British Open on our list of Global Qualifying events for the USDGC.
We will be looking for the top 5 finishers who have not already qualified, or who are exempt from the qualifying process. Players can come from any division, providing they play the exact same course as the Open division. Same course, tee, pin placement, and so forth.
Those who qualify will have 30 days to register from the end of the event. Please help communicate the deadline as there are no exceptions.
Spots are not transferable. If someone knows that they cannot attend the USDGC, it does not matter. It is still their spot and cannot be given to another player.
As TD you will earn an automatic invitation to compete. We hope that you will be able to attend. If you cannot, this spot is transferable, providing it goes to a co-TD or someone who played a significant role in the event. We would just like to know who is taking the spot as early as possible so that we may keep our records current.

Had a few enquiries about dates for Euro Tour 2010.
These are the dates that I have for Eurotour 2010 and other majors. As far as I'm aware they have not yet been published but as I was in negotiation about British Open I am pretty sure they are correct as of today:
Dutch Open - March 27-28
Copenhagen - April 24-25
Geneva - 15-16 May
Norwegian Open - June 5-6
Sweden Twin Lakes - June 19-20
British Open July 2-4
Stockholm - July 10-11
followed by Skelleftea - Scandinavian Open (not Euro tour) July 15-18
PDGA Worlds July 28-August 2
Belgian Open - August 21-22
European Chams - August 25-29
There may be more added but will probably clash with PDGA Worlds or be in Sept/Oct.
