Post by Charlie Mead » Thu Sep 29, 2016 8:13 pm

Dear all,

The submission deadline for the EuroProTour & EuroTour 2017 ends tomorrow, on September 30th.

http://pdga-europe.com/2016/09/eurotour-news/

http://pdga-europe.com/wp-content/uploa ... n_Form.xls

Please make sure you submit your applications before that date, to help expedite the reviewing and awarding of all events that applied to be part.

So far, applications were received from:
Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland (2), Netherlands, Norway, United Kingdom

The the Country Coordinators of countries that did not (yet) apply, we're looking forward to receiving your application forms if there are any events that have expressed interest in hosting.

To my knowledge, at least one Swedish and two more Finnish applications are being prepared.

We're gladly accepting application forms for both tours.
Currently, 5 EPT and 5 ET applications are being considered for review.

Firstly apologies if you have not seen this before. I am sure i passed this on but clearly not. I have asked Hans to give GB TD's a few more days to consider if they wish to apply for their event to be on the Euro Tour. Please follow all the links in the post above and fill out the application form as best as possible. Also get in touch with me directly via email so I can help negotiate any approval or timing difficulties.

Just had a mail enquiry - quick off the mark. The answer to the question of who has applied from UK so far is: Seamus Scanlon for a re-run of Dunbar and Battle of Bluebell woods. No country is restricted to one event only - the only potential clashes to be avoided are dates!

Mull - as an ET event over Easter. Probably won't get it but as 25th anniversary it would be great to have a really international field.

Charlie, as Pdga rep calling for Euro Tour applications a day before the deadline knowing you could not approve them due to a submitted conflict of interest with Pdga Europe is untrustworthy behavior and hopefully a new low for the Bdga.
If your application was already pending then there would be no harm and no foul but according to your own words above you had yet to submit an application for a Euro Tour event and only did so after seeing my Euro Tour application.
Nice work.

It was a tough decision because I find the concept of the Euro Pro Tour very attractive and I think with a little more evolution our course can not only challenge but separate even the best players. We will always aim to support the highest aspirations of Pdga Europe but in the end we went with a Euro Tour application.
Although there has never been a stronger year for the Pdga within the scope of the Bdga I don’t think the UK yet has the depth of player base to adequately support both types of Euro Tours. The more inclusive version seems better suited to fortify our disc golf foundation in order to support the growth ahead. Given the opportunity of hosting a Euro Tour in ’17 we would still plan to host an A-tier, build on our previous success and improve the infrastructure of our course in an effort to again attract Europes’ best players, which in ’17 would include all the Amateurs. I look forward to the day the UK support a Euro Tour and Euro Pro Tour.

MULL, Euro Tour and Euro Pro Tour Registration

Post by Charlie Mead » Wed Dec 07, 2016 5:43 pm

If you thinking of coming to Mull for the 25th Anniversary as part of 2017 Euro Tour - you will want to read this.

Registration for Euro Tour events will take place centrally through the PDGA Euro Office in Holland. This will be launched before Christmas so keep an eye out - I will put it up on Facebook if someone else doesn't get there before me! The first few events - which will include Mull - will be first on-line so make sure you are aware of the Registration process. This will be phased for all events based on PDGA Ratings and Division.

However - for MULL - like a few other Euro Tour events - because it has an historical catchment there will be opportunities for players outside the 8 designated Divisions to register directly with Mull TD through the Mull website.

We are also still guaranteeing that if you register through Disc Zoo, directly to me or through the website BEFORE January 1st - that you will get a place at the event. This means you can book your accommodation now and be certain that you will be able to come to Mull without losing any money or sleep!

We will post more information as and when it becomes available. I will also post this on the BDGA Facebook page.
