Eurotour 2016

http://pdga-europe.com/2015/11/eurotour ... -calendar/

The calendar has just been published for the Eurotour and 2 major changes have taken place. They've reduced the number of events to just six and axed the Am division.

Dan wrote:If the eurotour is secured, I think having our USDGC spot going to the best performance at that event is perfectly reasonable Tom. Alternatively we could have a poll of what players would actually take if they won that spot. As much as I would like to go, it's still incredibly expensive and difficult. It might be the case that there is only person who could take it up and we could just offer it up to them. Dan
bruce wrote:Whilst having some kind of performance measure as qualifier for USDGC makes some logical sense, given it will be a performance system used there, of course it has no real impact on how someone performs while out there! I have an issue with most handicap/performance systems, they are inherently biased towards lower rated players. Dan makes an excellent point that we should try to work out who would actually go, and then have a competition of some sort between them.
Has there been any movement on this topic?
You Gents seem to have a full plate so if you agree that the USDGC space should be allocated at our event we would be happy to do it and take any heat for making a decision about how to do it. :)
Our registration is set to open on or about February 16th.

Thurston Manor is the place to stay during our Euro Tour event in May. They are offering a 20% discount to all players which should roughly equal £20 per person per night with 4 people in a two bedroom caravan. On site amenities include a clubhouse with a pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, two pubs and plenty of room outside to grip it and rip it. Thurston Manor is 12 miles from our course but only a 9 minute drive due to both sites being just off the A1, they are also on a public transportation route.
Use the phrase "Discgolf" to be offered the discount.

If you are one of the folks that has asked us about playing Bluebell Woods between Mull and Burnlaw contact Thurston Manor and use the same key word "Discgolf" to see about a discount.

Just to say that our holidays are set in their duration times. These are 3 nights Fri-Mon, 4 nights Mon – Fri and 7 nights arriving on a Mon, Sat or Friday.
So we have set up a 3 night break offer for you – Friday 13th – Monday 16th May as you know - and now also a week offer – Monday 9th – Monday 16th May.
Should a customer wish to book odd durations for example arriving on the Thursday the 12th May until Monday 16th - they would have to book the 3 night break 13th – 16th and call nearer the time to check if they could pay the extra night on the 12th – this would be subject to availability of course as we run 4 night breaks too from a Monday to a Friday.
So we have set up the full week at the 20% for you too.
The codes to quote are below:
DiscGolf (Monday - week – 9th – 16th May - 20% off)
DiscGolfBk (3 night break – 13th – 16th May – 20% off)
^^^^^
The above is from Thurston Manor regarding their 20% discount.

If this is not desirable try calling Meadowhead Caravan park - Bellhaven Bay Camping and Caravan http://www.meadowhead.co.uk/

They are on a public transport route, only 1 mile from the course and 2 miles from the Dunbar train station.

Note to all:
Thurston Manor's online booking system DOES NOT accept the discount code posted earlier by Seamus.
You will need to phone them direct on 01368 840643 and quote the code in person.

Anyone interested in an organized Friday random doubles?
16:00 or 17:00 ? last time we arranged this at Bluebell Woods no one seemed to interested but then at Loch Tay last year we had 20 entries in a £5 random draw winner take all side event.
I'd be happy to arrange it if there is interest.
