So the allocation is done, in Phase 1 we have 11 spots.

Based on the stats from last year, I have the following breakdown of initial invitees:

Open - 7 spots:
Dan Ryan
Chris O'Brien
Matt Cutler [confirmed] [Team Captain]
James Luton [confirmed]
Jester Wilson [confirmed]
Jon Tweed
Hamish Blair

Women - 1 spot:
Sue Underwood [declined]
Sophie Southgate

Grandmasters - 1 spot:
Derek Robins

Senior Grandmasters - 1 spot:
Charlie Mead [confirmed]

Junior - 1 spot:
Charlie O'Brien

Comments welcome, for example I think Derek is eligible for GM and Charlie maybe for Senior GM?

I will also need a volunteer for team captain as I haven't qualified
Not that I'd be going anyway...

Thanks, Bruce. I am going to accept my invite. I'm afraid I cannot offer to captain though.

Out of interest if Charlie and Del both moved "up" who is the next ranking Master? Ivan?

Just like to know who I'm gunning for :)

Divisions

I am most definitely Senior Grand Master and Del is definitely Grand Master. Doesn't mean we can't play up but I am definitely definitely going to stay in my Division.

With regret I'm going to have to decline my spot on the team. Hope another GB player can take it.

Are any messages getting through from the organisers on this? Should things be happening like payment for tournament, accommodation, travel plans??
The website shows our team as including Jester, Chris and Charlie O'Brien who declared that they are not competing. I spoke to Jon Tweed yesterday and he seems to be backing out too.

Short answer yes, if places aren't paid by Weds, they will be lost.

Yep. When people finish paying me and therefore confirming their place, I'll update
