My Blackberry is on the blink, so please send emails to my home email toby.green@wanadoo.fr and don't try and call my mobile! When I get to Whitcombe I'll get my payg UK mobile going so you can reach me by phone - but until then, it's just emails please.

Classic report

Post by TobyGreen » Mon Aug 03, 2009 1:48 pm

It rained from 7pm Friday until 4pm Saturday - that's 21 hours - which made me very angry. Yup, completely pointless. How being angry with the weather will have made it any better is beyond me. Still, only a couple of tyros dropped out, damp, everyone else toughed it out. Altogether, 50 players, which was brilliant.

Many thanks to the crew who made it all possible: Bruce & Carol, Jester, Charlie, James, Dan, Matt for the course work and scorekeeping; to Claude and Meg for the food, and to James and Bernadette for allowing us to invade their home and throw plastic.

Derek won, catching Matt Cutler in the final. Jed Farrell was chief carpet bagger, winning the Ams with a score which would have put him in the Open final! Mark Fleetham won the Int Ams.

Great to see so many new faces too. Thanks for putting up with the weather and see you all at Frostbreaker.
