News

Post by TobyGreen » Mon Jul 27, 2009 8:42 am

ok, so it's been raining solidly for 24 hours now and everything is a bit damp. But the sun has just broken through and I have to go shopping! Hopeless.

We've now got 43 players registered and course preparation is underway. The big news is this: please DO NOT use the main farm entrance. Please come in via the lane and into the Upper Pig Paddock. The reason for this is that the dogs have taken to playing 'catch the cars' in the road and so the gate has to be shut at all times, else we're going to be scraping terriers and labradors off fenders! I just hope it doesn't rain between now and the tournament or else we're going to have fun in a muddy gateway. Watch this space for more news as the week progresses. If it does rain, we might have to shoot the dogs so we can use the main entrance after all. (No animals were harmed in the writing of this message).

My BlackBerry is dead, so emails to my wanadoo address and don't waste your time trying to call. I'll post my UK mobile number when I've remembered what it is!

Toodle pip!

telephone numbers

Post by alessa » Tue Jul 28, 2009 9:40 am

Hi there,
Can anybody give me the mobile numbers of Bruce or Jester?

Or even better Toby's UK mobile number (that would probably help us all, as he doesn't remember it  ) ? Or do you know whether there is a land line number for the Whitcombe farm?

Respond aqap as I am leaving for UK tomorrow morning :D
thx ;)

Actually, there were 2 last year, and I think between Oxdisc and the Masseys we certainly finished most of it by Friday.

Anyway - this is the best news I've had all week. Well done, Toby!

Looks like rain on Sat afternoon now. Let's face it, it's going to pee it down all weekend like QP. I'm definately going to get an umberella tomorrow.
Give a man a driver and he can play disc golf for years.
Give Stewart a disc and he'll lose it the same day!

Thursday news

Post by TobyGreen » Thu Jul 30, 2009 8:50 pm

The course is now (almost) ready to play - just some signs to go out and steps to cut near Cut to Oblivion. Late entries and withdrawals make the numbers a little chaotic, but I think we're almost at 50 players. The beer is stilled and the Whitcombe workers are testing it - just to make sure.

Latest weather is:
Friday - fine
Saturday - chance of showers 10.00-16.00 but sunny spells as well
Sunday - fine, with a chance of showers at 19.00

so, we'll be using the summer entrance!

see you tomorrow evening or Sat morning.
Toby Green
