Take the map above and block fill the green with blue... :)

The course drains fast, and the longer range forecast for next week is much improved. I've been thinking about creative options on the top half in case of emergencies

I played a round today, all above water, just a bit of a pond between 10b and 11. Squelchy mud everywhere though - many towels required as there are a lot of patches of very liquid mud.

** PARKING **
Parking is limited to the gravel car park, so please car share where possible, and please park really close to the next car. Let passengers out before you park. Unfortunately we are not able to use the Clinic's car park, and the grass overflow parking area is not usable.

Course Conditions - big puddle on 11 and on Avon Calling (blue 8, black 6) but tomorrow is supposed to be dry, so the course should be free of casual water in the next 24 to 48 hours. The ground is absolutely saturated though, and it will get messy. Ironically it's too soft to move the rest of the gravel that I bought to put on the muddy walkways.

Course work - I've been cracking on with work on the hedgeline between 13 and 14. We planted 100 small trees which won't have any immediate effect, but more importantly the hedge has been trimmed back hard and I'm 2/3 of the way through installing a fence for the last 60m of hole 14. We should be able to revert to a normal OB line for that section, and it should not be possible for discs to penetrate the fence, apart from the gap where the tractor goes down to the lower level.

oooph, that's a strong open division!

Not sure about this Jostein Tweedy Gundersen fella though, I've heard he's a bit sh*t

Any chance of me just playing the Sunday and joining the bottom Open group?

Edit* Really hoping Jostein Tweedy Gundersen is the big headed fool or I've just insulted someone I don't know....again....

Hey del.

Will we be able to park in the grass up at the top of seventeen to camp? Planning on coming up in the van this weekend.

Cheers

Dan

I would think not, the gate for the clinic will be closed so you can't get in that way and the course will likely still be too boggy to drive across from the main car park. As you're doing 2 nights you should be fine securing a car park spot though, I hope you're bringing a full van load?

Dan and Campers,
Unfortunately we don't have access to the gate by the 18th tee as the Clinic's barrier is half way up their drive. The barrier will go down sometime Friday evening and stay closed until Monday. If you are coming in daylight on Friday, you could dump your kit by the gate, but would have to take the van out before they put the barrier down. I have not looked in detail, but I'd imaging you could get by the barrier on foot, so if arriving late Friday or Saturday you could drop kit by the barrier and then back out and park elsewhere. The ground up by the 17th basket generally drains very well, so it shouldn't get muddy there. The ground between the QP car park and the crossing over the stream is the wettest I have ever known it to be, there's no possibility to drive over it.
I was out working on the course this morning and the floodwater was all gone save for a small puddle on 11.

Players list uploaded to PDGA: http://www.pdga.com/tour/event/16841/341450448

There are a small number of Open players who need to sort out their PDGA memberships, lest I mug them for their £5 discount on Sat morning...

[edit] looks like it's just Hatton, the others are pending

Yep, is 22 Open players a record turnout for a BDGA Tour event?

And yes Rich, you've insulted a Norwegian...

Dude! How rude!
and he read your comment too, and posted it on Facebook with a comment "Hørt Britene er et hjertelig folkeslag..." which translates as "He ard the British are warm people...
Still, 24 people "liked" his post, so I guess you provided plenty of amusement!

Oops, i have a talent for upsetting.

Sorry! Apologies to all Norwegians everywhere, all this on top of our Curling boys giving them one helluva beating today! A bad day for Anglo/Norwegian relations.

WTF is the Tweedy bit about?

I'm confused now :)
Where's Tweedy on the list?

No need for apologies, I think youre description fits him rather well ! :D

I posted this in the "NEW USERS - Post here"-thread, but guess there is no harm in repeating it here as well:
RAGgen wrote:Last year there was a short film/mini documentary made with Jostein Gundersen, where he talks "about frisbeegolf, life, etc"

All in norwegian sadly, but there is some nice footage.

From the intro (google translate):

"Look youreself in the mirror, Jossi, you're not a Johnny Depp. Even if we begin with the first two letters; Jonnny, Jostein. There is a certain similarity." Meet Jostein Gundersen, Bakkane Master in 2013, and his journey into Frisbee golf and life philosophy. Documentary short film about characters, prejudice, love and condolences protocols.

We all look forward to this weekend !

Do I really see Si Luard as being amongst the registered players?

Nice to see some old-young faces again...
