Hi Matt. Any chance you can let us know what the plan is for players meeting and start times and are we meeting at the Angel or on the course?

Also, is anyone else going to be about on Friday for a practice round? I'm planning on being there for about lunchtime if so.

Seriously, looking forward to the event and and looking at the list of players registered so far, I think it's going to be quite a good little battle in the Int's at least. I've already told Dan Brown I'm gunnin' for him ;) lol

I sure hope all these registered players have remembered to renew their BDGA memberships, otherwise there could be a lot of gaps in the stats tables...

run the tournament, design the course, win the tournament, write the theme tune, sing the theme tune.....

It's a fix!

So my 5 year PDGA deal expired last year, and we have a small window of opportunity to renew and be backdated as valid for this tournie, but looking at the provisional ratings I'm not sure that I really want my appalling 909 rated first round to count
Knock out that 1st round and Matt, Niklas and I would have been tied. Of course Matt would probably prefer if we dropped the 3rd round, and Dan the 2nd round. Only Niklas played consistently well.
There was plenty of drama in the final. Matt had a couple of really long hole outs early in the round and with 3 holes to play he had made up the 3 shot deficit and got in the lead by 2 I think. Then on hole 16 he drove long into the pond behind the basket. From the drop zone he threw an upside down backhand to try and land vertically by the basket, but it hit the fence and rolled back into the pond OB. That 6 meant that Niklas then had a 1 shot lead. Both took 3 on 17 and so it went to the 18th with Nik up by 1. They both drove in bounds and Nik made a gentle putt to land just a couple of metres away, but somehow it got on an edge and rolled away by a few crucial metres. Matt probably figured that Niklas would make the 3, and that he had to make his longish birdie putt to keep in the game. He got the putt (maybe 9m or more) and then the pressure was on Niklas to make a putt of maybe 6m into the wind. It fell short and Matt got the victory by 1. Exciting stuff! Well played guys.

If anyone is wondering about PowerStats, I've not had the formal PDGA results through yet, when I get em I'll do the update...
