Open Division Record

Post by Charlie Mead » Wed Apr 02, 2014 10:24 am

We are fast approaching a record entry for the Open Division on Mull - it's now up to 14 which is double last year! So good tour points on offer already!

SCOREPORT

Post by Charlie Mead » Thu Apr 03, 2014 7:01 pm

Does anyone coming to Mull have access or is near to a Scoreport? I am coming through the Midlands on Monday 14th with the trailer on the way north and can pick one up if there is one available……or bring it yourself if you have room in the car/van!

Thanks

Final Call for Trophies

Post by Charlie Mead » Mon Apr 07, 2014 9:27 pm

A final reminder for all those with Mull Trophies to bring them with them or make sure they come with someone who lives close by. We have the largest collection of perpetual trophies and would be great to have them all engraved and up to date as well.

Winners from 2013 were:

Chris O'Brien - Open
Derek Robins - Masters
Tom Lowes - Ad Am
Sue Underwood - Women
Phil Sumner - Int Am
Charlie O'Brien - Junior
Ned Morris - Junior Junior

Looking forward to having them all reunited in 11 days time…..

Del Boy returns to Mull

Post by Charlie Mead » Tue Apr 08, 2014 9:08 pm

Finally, but as usual, Derek Robins - all time Open Champ on Mull - has late registered for 2014 Mull Classic - along with a late surge of 6 Int Ams. We are now looking at the biggest field on the island for many a year. 15 Open players and a field of 33 with locals Ben Bolton, Jonny Simpson and Alfie yet to put there money down - and a few new entrants from the island including Michelle's son - so am hoping for 40!

Check out the Registered players list on the web site. Exciting stuff. How will Finnish all rounder and Champ Marko Timonen cope with the hills and wind? He has to be a contender - and with Chris O'B going head to head with Del could they cancel each other out and we have another surprise 'Pickett-like' victory?

All things are possible on Mull -

10 days and counting…...

Is there anyone doing Mull and Burnlaw that would have space in their car for me via Glasgow? As Del is only doing Mull then going home i'll get stranded if I go up with him, obviously i'll chip in for fuel and ferry.

Gary,

I am picking up and dropping Steve and Lena in Glasgow where they are leaving their car - might want to see if you can contribute to the road trip funds!
I know they are playing Glasgow and Burnlaw after Mull.

OKKKK THEN.
We got to mull today to discover some things that you all need to know. The Bellachroy (pub next to the village hall) is under new ownership. We didn't love it (£98.10 for 4 people just for main courses and drinks, and there was very little food). But if you choose to eat there you have to book in advance as the other restaurant on this side of the island is closed due to a chef not returning. The number to call and book is 01688400314. Be warned if you do not book then you may not get food. Especially on Saturday.
As for Sunday the pub has chosen to stop serving for at 4pm on Easter Sunday in a bold move on their part. So our provisional plan is to have a BBQ at the village hall on Sunday night since the forecast is for sun. If you wish to participate in this your best bet is to head to the shops near the village hall on FRIDAY. A pig and a lamb are being delivered to the shop on Friday so get there on the day in order to ensure you have food, if you wait till Saturday and there is limited choice then that's on you :)
In other news we are looking at a big turnout and the forecast for the weekend is lots of sun and very little wind so you're in luck. If anyone is on the island or gets here tomorrow and fancies coming to the course to help set up it will be most appreciated. Everyone enjoy the trip and prepare for another amazing disc golf holiday. WHISKEY FOR EVERYONE!

Careful, James...
3.3 Player Misconduct

9. Excessive use of alcohol at the tournament site.
Does 'tournament site' mean the whole of the Isle of Mull?

Have a good one.
