Aye, Grats to jester!

And to Seamus, all the hard work paid off! Excellent course and great event! Can't wait for the next one! Where I'll not be living up to the forum name (sky)! U should have had a prize for the greatest average disc height! Haha.

Thanks, guys, absolutely delighted with the very unexpected 3peat. :D

Awesome work on the course Seamus. Wonderful effort to get it to the state it is in so far, looking forward to the planned improvements taking shape and playing there again soon next year.

If Ivan drank the 6 bottles of delicious local Thistly Cross cider he took as his prize, he might not remember much about the journey!

Apart from running a great tournie, Seamus also deserves mention for one of the best rounds (if not the best round) of the tournament. I know its matchplay, but he shot a 55 in the 2nd round and nearly pulled off the biggest shock of the tournament. He was playing top seed Dan Ryan, who had a poor start, and Seamus went 4 up. Dan got his game together but couldn't make any headway, as our host avoided the many pitfalls and kept parring the holes. In the closing stages Dan pulled out some amazing shots, and I think he deuced 4 of the last 6 holes, to force a play-off. It was only on the 3rd hole of sudden death that Seamus succumbed, when his putt just dropped out after hitting plenty of chain. It was one of those epic battles that matchplay is all about.

Thanks for the kind words Del, it was a fun match separated by millimeters that's for sure, good times, great grouping, cheers.

Here is a little piece of Nationals propaganda I'll be touting to the local media.

The details of the write up on http://www.rebootdiscgolf.com/nationals-results.html are not quite right for the final hole; my drive went OB and seeing as Jester could lay up from 7m and still half the hole, I conceded.
The final was a fairly tentative affair for the first 13 holes, with neither of us finding any form with the putter, but as other players joined us to spectate the last few holes it really came to life. Jester getting birdies on 15, 16 and 17 was no mean feat, his forehand on 16 was one I'm sure he will remember for a long time. Congrats on the 3-peat!

Sorry to seem so shallow Del but taking time to gather boring facts to report a story accurately is just not American :)

Got some encouraging news after a chat with the farmer, the back nine will continue to be "temporary" for quite some time, hopefully years to come.

I'm working on it Mr Scary, I'm working on it.

Just one other small point to correct in the write up, Seamus. I parred 14, but Del birdied it which put him 1 up with 4 to play. On 15 Del really put the pressure on with a great drive to 12m from the basket that was unlucky to finish behind a tree. When my drive took a fortuitous kick off the tree to within gimme range I thought I might be back to all-square, but Del holed a great putt for the half. As he said to me afterwards (paraphrasing) when it's do-or-die you just have to do it!

Thanks again for running a great event, and to Sue, Hamish, Dan and Del for the great matches.
