Course Map of the new Blue 18,
http://www.rebootdiscgolf.com/nationals-layout.html

Also I've done some shopping for Hotel accommodation around Dunbar and found the http://www.royalmackintosh.co.uk/index.html Royal Macintosh Hotel a mere hyzer bomb from the Dunbar train station and only a few miles from the course. He is offering £35 per person bed and breakfast double occupancy rooms. The owners name is Cliff if you'd like to call him personally, mention the tournament.
Camping is available on the course, camper van hook ups also available, but as many of you stated "its October in Scotland".

If anyone read the course description they may have noticed on Hole 11 I had made it OB to strike the building. I just finished reading all the hubbub from last years thread regarding this rule and I have to agree its not fair. I'm not a fan of unnatural OB but in this case I'll need to paint a line on the ground, look for it. This is going to force some people to lay-up, sorry, if the windows get smashed in the old steading we all lose. My plan was never to approach the building, but the farmer put a pheasant pen on what was going to be hole 11.
Any questions about the course fire away.......
Cheers

Seamus, if a broken window would really be bad news, could some temporary protection for it be installed for the weekend? Having not seen the building in question I don't know if this is a single shed window that could be easily covered with a flattened cardboard box for the weekend, or if it's several windows of a working building where protecting them is unfeasible??

Cracking video, Seamus. The production quality is really high. Any chance of having the same crew produce a Foxlake DG Promo while the best players in the UK are in town for Nationals?

I'm imagining an omnicopter or similar was used for some of the shots, and this would be immense to fly down fairways after drives.

That is a great idea and I've looked into it, but surfers are like birds and soon they'll be heading south for warmer waters. Although I'm looking to get this done before they leave

First post updated with registration information.
The NtN format will be the same as last year, Pdga rounds on Saturday which will seed 2 rounds match play on Sunday.

I'm hoping some people will make it for random draw doubles on Friday. I'm flexible on the time so if pushing this back until 5pm allows more people to play let me know.

The Menu at The Royal Mackintosh for Saturday evening is
Soup
Caesar Salad
Bread/Rolls
Vegetable Green Curry with Rice
Steak Pie with Potatoes (mashed or wedge?)
Apple and Mixed Berry Crumble

Their dining room is large enough to accommodate last years crowd and then some if needed.

Lets Christen this course!!

Thanks for the scoreport Matt, I'll make sure to get some cards.

I'm looking forward to seeing you Sam.

We may just get our wish Jester! I'm meeting with the videographer on Saturday to discuss the best filming options for his helicopter during the tournament, fingers crossed.

first post updated.
If you planning on attending Nationals or Not the Nationals please let me know ASAP.
post here or email to rebootdiscgolf@gmail.com

Although the caliber of players is high the attendance is not and the Cup at this point could be won in a single day.
Stay tuned as the attendance numbers become solidified, we COULD have format choices. (Maybe we all play stroke play on Saturday that seeds match play on Sunday for example)
Regardless of attendance the course is ready and we're gonna have some fun in Sunny Dunny!!

For you folks traveling from the south you may want to look into the penthouse 'golfers apartment' at The Royal Mackintosh, it sleeps up to 7 and costs £30 per head Bed and breakfast, ask for Cliff.

Jester I assume you are bringing the Cup?
Cheers

Yep, I have the National Trophey and will bring it up with me.

WRT number of players, I don't think there has ever been a Nationals Champs yet where all top 15 players in PowerStats and the #1 finisher in Amstats have attended. Therefore, the form is to promote players from AmStats to fill up the 16 slots an not necesetate any alteration to the tournament format. :) I believe promoted players are allocated slots based on their player rating, not AmStats finishing position. Bruce or Phil can likely confirm.

seamus,

I'll be there. Seriously looking forward to playing another new UK course.

I'm also considering bringing my west suit depending on the weather forecast for that weekend. The ropes course looks ridiculously fun but I can't say I love the cold...
