Looks like it was a close battle in advanced ams div amongst all the BDGA members. :)

Of course it counts, it just means he won't get a rating update so he stays at 919, clever work from Mr Denny

Congratulations to Chris OB on his maiden Tour win. A lights-out 3rd round and he kept it together for the 4th. Well done, mate. :D

Even if his rating did go above 919 (the exact cut off for playing open.... ) he wouldn't have to move up this season as he started it by playing AM's. But, by not having a current PDGA membership I'm guessing he wont have a BDGA membership at the time of the event (can Tom confirm this?), so technically the win should not be counted towards the am stats.... What was that about clever? :o

yes he can, he got and e-mail from me last week, about me paying up, which I did and my membership fees are all sorted.

I have the e-mails if you all want to have a look.

and what is all the crying about, i'm only playing by the rules.

and there are many people who have moved down.

then only difference is i didn't play down when i got here.

As much fun as you seem to be having ripping on Jesse, I thought I'd clear a few things up.

Firstly he was fully entitled to move down. Disc golf is about having fun and Jesse wasn't having fun in Open, so why should he stay there when he doesn't have to? Do you all dislike him so much you'd prefer he was miserable?

Secondly, if Mark hadn't had such an awful second round (worst score on the Blue course in the whole division all weekend) it would have been close. The 13 shot gap comes entirely from that round.

Thirdly, his round scores and ratings are completely in line with what is usually required to win Adv Am, typically averaging 940+ is needed. Arguably he didn't actually play well enough! Compared to last year the winner at most events had a round in the 970-990 bracket thrown in amongst the other 920+

Fourthly, rounds played when your membership is not current do reflect in your rating, it's just invisible to you and others.

 If the QP results were included in a PDGA update today, Jesse would no longer be AM.
I'm sure Jesse is big enough to fight his own corner Bruce mate. In fact I'm sure he can justify dropping down to the division below when he's one point under the threshold. It's all about the competitive golf!

Just want to say thanks again for Bruce and Jesse for TD 'ing - very smooth operators. All those who worked on the course and supported the event in the build up and during the weekend (sue, ivan and co). Del for having us all over to play in his garden!

Delighted to put the practice form into the tournament. Naturally I feel good about my game and looking forward to the next one.

Just want to add I'm very much in favour of the 4 x 18 format. The more of these the better in my opinion, for lots of reasons. It was so nice to complete 18 holes for the final round.

Thanks again to all players who I have played with over the years and this weekend who have fuelled my desire to keep improving.

Great start to the season ! Woohoo!

Not really. In one case I pointed out that even if his rating rose up he would still be playing AM as thats how the BDGA model works once the season kicks off. The other just pointed out how close to the cut off he is (1 point) and if the weekends rounds were included he would already be over the open threshold after just one comp..

Now stop posting so I can keep your post count at 999 :P
