Just under a week to go before the Winter Doubles at Essex and I have not heard from many people, so peeps are you gonna make the trip for another chance at defying the Lake...

Please drop me a PM or post away to your hearts delight and i will add you to the list. If your name is on the list but you can't make it please also let me know so that i can amend.

So far

Tim Herring
Fernando Brown
Scott Reek
Rick Hoffa
Paul Cooper
Ross Poole
Jim Hollingsworth (Only a maybe at present)
Jonno Oakley

The format will be Matchplay, it will be alternate shot and i have now decided that it will be random draw doubles, A pool and B pool. The alternate shot format should make for some interesting dilemma's...

Cool, the more the merrier, tie them to your roof if need be, have them surfing behind on their skateboards, lets make this the biggest turnout for a winter doubles event.

The list now looks like this

Tim Herring
Fernando Brown
Paul Cooper
Ross Poole
Jim Hollingsworth (Only a maybe at present)
Jonno Oakley
Bruce
Brian
Joseph
Gwyn
Heavy T
Si Luard

Come on folks, we need more people and whatever the weather the 19th hole is always welcoming and we have hot showers to boot :D

So rumor has it that the Oxford crew may not be able to make it to the Winter Doubles, as Bud is having them over the night before. When will people learn to stay away from the happening party spot the night before an event! :)

Thanks to everyone for making the trip out to the Essex Winter Doubles yesterday. The sun and mildish weather greeted 10 players and we changed the format to random doubles with best shot scoreplay. The results are as follows

1st Fernando Brown & Brian Schoenfeld(sic)--48 & 50 - 98
2nd Bruce Webber & Paul Cooper--------------52 & 51 - 103
3rd Gwyn Wilden & Joseph Brugger------------53 & 53 - 106
4th Si Luard & Tim Herring----------------------57 & 52 - 109
5th Travis Stone & Ross Poole------------------54 & 56 - 110

1st place won 3 discs each
2nd place won 2 discs each
3rd place won a disc each
and 5th place won a hacky sac each, just in case they want to start playing a different game

Fernando scooped the Ace pot of £20, shooting an unbelievable, although witnessed, ace on Hole 8, Brown's Birch, his name sake and Fernando originally designed this hole... So from now on we won't allow him to design any new holes 8)

A great day of DG was had by all on a superb course.
