Post by Steve » Wed Nov 23, 2005 9:58 pm

Hi all

You are cordially invited to the inaugural event at the new Kingsland course in Shrewsbury. This is your chance to play the newest course in the UK, and get a feel for the place before the Tour event next May.

Invite is:

HERE!!!!!

More directions can be found at http://www.shrewsbury.org.uk/index.cfm? ... t&cmid=137

Central location and hospitality will be A+! make an effort people :)

Please let us know if you're intending attending as soon as possible - we need to know how many spuds to cook and what size cauldron to use for the soup!

Regards

Steve

It just occured to me that this event has been and gone. Any chance of a report from one of you Shropshire sheep-botherers? :?:

'Twas a glorious sunny day for the inaugural event at Kingsland last Sunday - the Kingsland Chilly Dubs 2005.

Teams were picked on a quasi-randomesque basis, with the first round played as modified best shot, and the second round played as alternate shot. As the light faded, the results panned out as follows:

Village & Neale Pickett 59 + 71 = 130

Pete Milmo & Bill Ferguson 63 + 68 = 131
Ivan & Dave 56 + 75 = 131

John T & Nige 60 + 73 = 133

Bud & Shazza 59 + 75 = 134

Del & Chloe 61 + 74 = 135

Sue, Steve & Casper 60 + 76 = 136

Longest Putt: Steve Broster
CTP: Bill Ferguson
Spirit: Nige

Huge thanks to Chloe for slaving away over a hot stove to provide mountains of flapjacks and several gallons of home made soup, and Lou and Sue for manning the potato oven and microwave in the pavilion over lunch.

Essentially, the course was a test design for the Tour event next year, and some issues were highlighted which will result in a few minor changes to the course. Rest easy though, most holes will remain the same, although some of the cricket screens may well come in to play on a couple of the more open holes on the school grounds...
