Good looking match ups, gutted to be missing it. no baby as of yet, was out at baby classes last night.

Stew I would say on current form Liam is probably the pro in that match up, very good sidearm well suited to Croydon and a player to watch next year in the ams division.

Jester and Morne - that's a strong team right there, really good Dunc is going to have to show up to win that one. would expect a croydon win, sorry.

Del + sian against Dan and Neil - That's a beautifully balanced match up, I would of thought QP just edge it as Sian can keep Del in with a shout by hitting the fairway each time, Neil is a little scattergun at the moment but improving quickly if not too much rope is put down then the scattergunness might not matter.

Tom and Ben against Neil and Gareth - another very good match up, Don't really know Ben but would expect Croydon to just edge this one on the back of Toms solid sidearm around croydon course.

Paul + Jon vs Dave and Dan - great match up again, just about evenly balanced, don;t get the impression either of the Croydon two have much of a sidearm (or didn't last time I saw them) Pauls has improved massively, would just tip this Qp's way, Paul and Jon should be playing pretty much par golf as both approach well and if they keep Paul open for the short sidearm holes they should nick it.

Dark Mavis + JT vs Sam and Jerry - I would say possibly QP's strongest team as long as good Mark comes out to play. JT's superb putting and short game should shaw up Marks confidence around the basket, more than mine ever did. Would expect a QP win here although Sams solid approach play could keep Croydon in the hunt, crodyon likely to be a couple over Par, would be disappointed if Dark and JT weren't a few under.

Tweed + Geoff vs Neil M and Jason - A lot depends on which Jason comes out to play, will it be the 61 around black course or the 74 Jason? Lot of potential there if he tightens the game up a bit. I would expect a QP win with QP's Mr matchplays on the other team though. Whatever tough lie they find themselves in Tweed should be able to find a way back to the basket with his array of shots, Geoff putts well as does Tweedy these days.

Gumbo + Village vs Oz and James - one of the stronger Croydon teams, Qp will have to play very well to win this one - sorry Gumbage

Jesse and Chris vs Stew + Liam - Very balance match up as long as Chris gets out of bed and turns up... I'd expect croydon to just nudge this one with Liams strong sidearm and Stews love of matchplay. Sorry Jesse....

Ivan and Steve vs Dan and charlie - HC virgin steve should balance well with Ivan, Steves a lefty and think he will relish playing some of the short lefty holes - first itme waway from QP though so could be a bit tricky with distance on the first round. would expect QP to just nudge it. But will Open Dan Pommer or int am Dan Pommer show up?

Sue and Andrew vs Terry and Louie - beautifully balanced match up. too close to call.

The triple - who cares about the result i just want to listen to the banter.

i'd expect QP to just edge it through the doubles. There that wasn't too controversial was it?

That's 2 out of 3 Hyzer Cup doubles matches against Tweedy :(
We shall have to see what me and Jason can do. I think we could be a good pair as long as we are consistent. Put the pressure on that big arm with some solid, consistent golf and you never know

Speaking of tough lies, you should ask Tweedy about some of his adventures on hole 2 some time.

Tweedy - did you ever get that Champion Eagle back again?

Wow. Some interestings thoughts as ever Hatton. Some very well thought out analysis. I would have to agree with virtually everything you said... apart from anything to do with any QP victories. COME ON CROYDON!

Had a chat with Sam yesterday about the groupings and we have agreed that because of the int am division now being up to a rating of 870 you could in effect have an absolute noobie playing someone of an 860 rating which we don't think is fair so we have agreed to split the groups into four so the groups will be as follows:-

top 5
2nd 6
3rd 6
bottom 6

As a result of this my groups will look like this :-

top 5
Del
Ivan
Me
Neil Pickett
Dark Mavis

Next 6
Jesse
Paul Holden
Duncan
Gumbo Davies
Sue Underwood
Village

Next 6
Andrew Douse
Phil Sumner
Phil Blount
Jon Turner
Jon Wood
Jonny Burden

Next 6
Lloyd Jacques
Steve
Geoff Innes
Gareth Hardy
Chris Sharples
Sian

That is all!!!

9.00am players meeting. 9.30 start. Should the anhyzer cup be going ahead one of the organisers will need to get in contact to clarify the organisation.

All,

As is the case for the Hyzer Cup each year, there will be a £5 per person entry fee. To show our commitment to raising money for the development fund cdgc will match the amount raised. This will be the case for the anhyzer cup as well.

Sounds great Matt. As of this post Essex still have 8. I'll go tell them about the £5 entry fee now...

Isn't that a bit nuts as there is a threesome kicking around....
Why have a 1 against 2 and a 3 against 3, when you can have a proper pair and a 2 against 3.....?!?
Or are you just showing off :?
