Looks like a classic. Some big names missing, but the some exciting draws.
Give a man a driver and he can play disc golf for years.
Give Stewart a disc and he'll lose it the same day!

At lunch as we do the draw for the singles we will have a little extra competition.

As your name is pulled out of the hat you will walk under the eyes of everyone to the pro tee of 17 with the one disc you put in for the draw and take an ace run shot at short course 17A.

Hit the ace win the point for your team, shank it wide and take the abuse!

enjoy

I'll kick off the smack talk. Because James luton is an unorganised student ********* **** ***** ****** ***?<*> - (you get the impression) and can no lomger attend the hyzer cup (he got the wrong weekend) I have had to change the doubles partnerships.

Grrr.

Meal Ticket will pair up with Andrew Douse and JB Hardman will partner Jon Turner.

I think I have had confirmation now from all the QP team so it looks like the above doubles pairings will be correct barring last minute drop outs.

Looking forward to getting my revenge over Yankee Dan for the Nationals beating.

Double Impact Mark 2 are going to destroy you Ryan, Van Damme style!

15 to 25kph South westerly winds tomorrow, Fantastic!
(really, it's my favourite wind direction)
The 90% chance of rain is less good...
But I am looking forward to playing for QP

Here is the story of my singles matchup.

After being drawn against Stew Gudgeon i was eager to get some payback for nationals last year, we were joined by Rich Wood and Jim Edwards.

After winning the toss and electing Stew to go first on old hole 10, he drove into the trees on the right and my putter went staight down the fairway. Stew pulled a sweet shot to land under the basket from just inside the trees, i went for the putt and missed and we settled for 3s, all square.

Into the woods we go and Stew steps up to the tee and hits a tree on the left, i rock up and launch a mid through the first gap and far into the second with awe from the rest of the group, Rich and Jim both clunking trees early. Rich and Jim were very evenly matched on this hole both taking 7s to draw the hole where Stew taking 3 shots to pass the ride, conceded the hole, 1 up.

Hole 10 sees me up and my sidearm hits an early tree, then another, then another and finally hits a tree that lands me safely in the middle of the fairway, Stew unfortunately hits another early tree and isnt as lucky. I played up to the basket sensibly to take the hole, 2 up.

Hole 11 and its still me up, my sidearm isnt as lucky this time and cuts in to the trees on the right, Stew steps up and launches a beauty halfway up the tunnel, my first roller doesnt help and the second is still a mile away, Stew lays up to win the hole, 1 up.

Hole 12 and Stew is up launching a big anhyzer that cuts down just past the tree line, i shank my sidearm a bit into the trees on the left and catch a lucky bounce to land me safely in the middle. Not wanting any pressure i plop my shot up pin level and Stew lays up aswell to draw the hole, 1 up.

Hole 13 and Stew up again stuffs his drive early in the trees on the right, i step up and launch a drive through the gap and lands just inbounds, Stew is up to the basket for 4 and i lay up leaving a gimme 3, 2 up.

Hole 14 and i'm up, feeling a bit couragous i take the roadrunner out and launch it flat, slowly turning over up the fairway before touching down about 6 metres from the basket, woops and skins from the group. Stew with real pressure on goes big and pulls it around the ob pen with a good chance for a 3, i step up to my drive and can the putt for 2 birdies on the same hole in 2 consecutive days, 3 up.

Hole 15 and i catch a branch early and fade into the trees on the left, Stew had a bad drive and parked the short hole 15a. Stew had a bad upshot and mine wasnt much better, settled with 4s, 3 up.

Hole 16 and my drive looked OB all the way, Stew put his drive just behind the small tree, when we get up there i find my drive is somehow inbounds but not pretty, i hit a chain but spit out on the third, Stew lays up to win the hole, 2 up.

Hole 17 and Stew puts one up there a little to the left, i decide to be a bit of a cock and go huge over the trees on the right, looked like i got quite far in, i was informed brive was halfway up a tree when i got up there, Stew puts his second shot close to the basket and the only gap i had was along the floor, so the upside down shot it was, came a little short but i made the putt to draw the hole, 2 up.

Hole 18 and i step up and the disc comes out of my hand a little weak, crashes through trees on the left early and the next second we see it hit the OB fence and bounce off it back in bounds, lucky as fudge, Stew steps up and unfortunately goes OB short of the green. I play on to the green and Stew goes close, i miss my putt for the 3 and we half it with 4s, 2 up.

Hole 1 and my drive goes much better than the morning crashing through the trees and landing safe, Stew pulls his a little further right but no problems, Stew shoots up first and lands nice and close to the basket, my second shot is a bit wild and nearly lands in the hedge behind the basket, i come backand drain the putt, forcing Stew to hole out and misses, 3 up.

Hole 2 and my tree luck stops as the trees on the left stop me short, were Stew lands nice in the middle by the pens, my second shot isnt great and doesnt reach the green, Stew parks the second shot making me go for a long putt which i miss, 2 up.

Hole 3 and Stew launches a tree line rider along the left hand side and pulls away enough to land next to the fence a long way up, I step up and try to turn over my drive without success but go crashing through the trees and land the same distance up as Stew, all 4 in the group landed the same distance up. Me and Stews second shots land close together and Stew makes his putt, me in a lapse of concentration miss high, 1 up.

Hole 4 and Stew steps up and just creeps over the hedge and quite short, my drive is better landing about 12 metres from the basket, Stew puts his approach by the basket and i make a long putt to claim the birdie and the hole, 2 up.

Now the rain starts and Jim had just win his matchup so they left us to battle it out. Hole 5 and i launch my drive high but in bounds landing short of the basket of old 6, Stew fears his drive is OB but finds himself just in, I launch my second shot long and around 15 metres short of the basket, Stew plays a bad second shot but puts his third close, i got for the 3 to close the match but miss still laying up at the same time, Stew makes his 4 to half the hole, Dormie 2.

Hole 6 and my drive decides to go for a swim, Stews looks like it wants to follow but touches down by the edge of the bank, Stew layed up to take the hole, Dormie 1.

Final hole and Stew drives first badly, crashing into a tree and dropping into the stream, I play it safe round the tree line to land at the bottom of the hill, We find Stews had dropped but onto a small patch of the grass, keeping him in bounds, Stews second shot however did go OB, he then played his 4th up landing close to the basket, i place my second shot by the basket and Stew concedes the match, 2 up.
