The Final Throws Whitcombe Marker Discs Optional Open
Whitcombe Farm, Beaminster, Dorset
23/24 July 2011
Tournament Directors – Patrick and Edd Green

Format:
Saturday –
1x18 and 1x9 for all players
Sunday –
1x18 for all and 5 hole final for top 4 players in each division

Divisions -
Open – ‘I have played Disc Golf before’
Beginner – ‘I have not played Disc Golf before.’

Depending on numbers for the Beginners division there may end up being an Open and an Am.

Field –
A total limit for the field is currently set at 40 people.
A primary focus of this tournament is to get a good number of first time players so that they can have a great tournament and a proper competition.
It’s ‘bring a friend’ Disc Golf Weekend!
Therefore at the moment 15 places are reserved for the ‘Beginners’ Division.
Leaving 25 places available on a first come first served basis.

Registration -
Register by clicking ’attending’ on this event and leaving a comment as to which division you wish to be in. Alternatively call Patrick 07813171564 or Edd 07817078781

Tournament Fee –
£10 – includes lunch on Sat + Sun, players pack, and a FREE compact DISC!
Camping free of charge. Available from nights of Thursday 21st – Sunday 24th

Schedule
Thursday 21st –
Course open (though probably still being worked on)

Friday 22nd –
Do as you will (plans for an insane jungle doubles tournament)

Saturday 23rd -
Registration Closes 9:40
Players Meeting 9:50
10:30 tee off /1 Round of 18 holes
Lunch
3:30 tee off /1 Round of 9 holes

BBQ + and festivities

Sunday –
10:00 tee off /1 Round of 18 holes
Lunch.
Finals begin 1 hour after last group returns.

This is an informal tournament where the focus is on a relaxed atmosphere and having a jolly good time. Therefore: all timings are flexible. Camping is free of charge. Lunch is provided for all. We’re thinking pasta/bread rolls/chocolate etc. There will be Trophies/Spot Prizes/Player Packs.

Course details (this is where it gets fun) –
We have mapped out a different course for each round.
Round 1 is mixed divisions and we have a fairly tame par 57 that includes all the classics, ‘Hypotenuse,’ ‘Goolagong’ etc but there is a few surprises such as ‘Backwards Preferique!’

For Round 2 the beginners have a 9 hole par 29 short course, still challenging but not like the Evil par 30 monster we have mapped out for the Open including ‘Megadeath’s Hyper Jump To Oblivion’ (New Hypotenuse – Dead Elm Ridge)

Sunday’s Round 3 for everyone is then an 18 hole par 61! Featuring many new holes including two par 5’s! Enjoy!

There is then two different 5 hole finals planned, the open will be tested by the likes of new hole ‘Wildfisher’ and of course ‘Mega Minns Gate’ – go figure. Whilst the battle for the Beginners title shall climax on Horror and Goolagong!

Check the photos attached to this event to see course maps!

Course maps not available on here but a lot of new holes suited for the big arms, almost like the black course designed a couple years ago.
Ken Climo isn't the only Champ.
