Website for the USDGC, I believe there is live streaming of the event again this year.

Del is there by invitation, hoping to imprve on previous years.

Our very own Chris O'Brien is also there. He has a harder task in front of him though. He is attempting to get in through the prequalification rounds.

Normally a round in the high 1000's needs to be shot on one of the toughest course layouts in the world in order to beat your fellow qualifiers. The good news is he gets as many attempts at this as he likes.....at $20 a pop ( I think)

Good luck to Chris in his bid for glory! Hope you don't come back bankrupt mate!

Presidents cup is also taking place at USDGC this year, which is Disc Golfs very own Ryder Cup.

Uphill battle for Team Europe who are missing out on Jesper Lundmark, Markus Kallstrom, Simon Lizotte and Oscar Stenfelt but still a strong team all the same. Maybe one day we'll get a Brit or two in there.

does Del get an invite every year, being a Hall of Fame member? Or did he qualify by some other route? Will any of us mere mortals ever get an invite or is it via Euro events and top 5 finishes etc..? Is it just the British Open (as a EuroTour event) that gives us a chance to qualify for a place at USDGC?

Can someone clarify, please, or point me to further info?

Thanks

Here is a list of all eligible players to this years' tourney. http://www.usdgc.com/competitors/eligible-competitors

So at least with the credentials listed there you can get in.

Brucey boy wasn't far off with his placing at this years British Open, only a couple of shots off. A couple of players above him had already qualified and I think there were five spots available, so he was only about one place off, i remember at the time thinking he had made it.

Del seems to have got through this year as British tour winner last year. However I'm sure he also qualified through his placement at another of the Euro tour events he visited. He does need to qualify every year.

There is a list of qualifying events each year, all you've got to do is go to one get good and qualify. Job done.

Lets be honest, without Jesper and Simon who is gonna take it to the Americans? i don't think there is another European who can really bring it to Feldberd and Klimo
Ken Climo isn't the only Champ.

I think Del is getting the "UK" spot that each national director can choose who it goes to.

and the National Director is..?

I didn't think 'British Tour Winner' qualified for an automatic place at USDGC.

Is anyone else ever offered the spot or is it always Del?

If Del gets beaten (up) can someone else go?

Just curious...

Just watching the (free) coverage on DiscGolfPlanet and found out they have changed the OB rules this year. No Bunc'r rule but they are using stroke and distance instead! That's just evil, though it does make officiating much, much easier...
