Disc or no disc?

Since we've been on the subject of value for money, and TDs raising cash through merchandise, I was wondering whether people want stuff to take home?

I've seen two sides of this, I've had great packs full of stuff I liked, eg Brit Open.
But I've sometimes got a t-shirt I'll never wear, a disc I'll never throw and a mini I don't need, but on the plus side my club-discs box is bulging.

Note to TDs: have more putters as pack discs, it's difficult to give discs to beginners when they're all drivers...

Being a very new beginner I dont mind paying a bit more and getting the discs and T-Shirts etc. However I can see how this would become tiresome as you start to build up your bag.

Would it be too complicated to offer both?

Unfortunately, yes. In order to give stuff away, you have to give away enough to cover all your other costs.

Maybe it'd be worth the TD posting on the forum what discs they are looking to get for the packs for the tournament that is comming up ... so people that know they are attending can suggest what kind of discs they wouldn't mind getting in the pack?

Just a thought :)

Unless a TD is getting all hotstamped discs, then he could also just give a disc from a selection of stock discs, or have one of the countries retailers who would be attendance work out a deal and choose from their selections, making it so a TD would only have to pay what the retailer sold it to him for. Less overhead that way and no worry about excessive products.

I think the real problem is we're mostly picky g1ts. Virtually all my discs are within a 5 gram weight range, in specific plastics etc.

Absolutely no way you can please everyone!
