Wondered if anybody has time on their hands to check last years tour results and see what a difference the F1 scoring system would have made last year ? Will give it a go when I have a bit of time but may be a while. Can anyone provide me a spreadsheet with the following columns: Player Name BDGA #...

One point Dunc made is that the punishment really is harsh. In the stats, you can see a spike of 3s and a spike of 6s , so Dunc’s point that the mistake costs you 3 shots has some validity. In thinking about what is fair, I asked people “How would you feel about the hole if the OB was real, physical...

I see one of the int ams managed to come away with a 10, anyone know who this was? I'm intruiged. It was the Canadian guy. - He missed the island twice. (1+1, 1+1) - He missed the approach from the drop zone (1+1) - I think he then missed it again (1+1) - He missed the putt. (+1) - He got it in. .1...

Ahem, yes. I too managed a double-OB 6 on the second round by missing the layup twice.

I went 3-6-3 for the tournament.

I've done a statto analysis of what happened on hole 1 and started its own thread.

Croydon Cyclone: Hole One...

I gathered the stats for the first hole at Croydon Cyclone. Click here to see the score distribution. Overall, there's a double peak; one at par (3) and one at triple-bogey (6). In the Open, the spread was very very even - there were 11 birdies, 12 pars, 12 5s and 12 6s. In the Int Ams, only 20% of ...

I'm arriving Saturday morning. Best advice on parking? - Park at lloyd park and walk to scout hut - park at scout hut and walk to lloyd park for the rounds - park at scout hut for player's meeting, then drive to lloyd park? I ask just in case I cut things a bit fine with my arrival time! PS excellen...

No parking at the scout hut, Andy. It's inbetween Spencer road and Birdhurst rise (down an ally). Last year we parked on Spencer Road (pay and display). Thanks Steve - so parking for the weekend gets a bit expensive? That's not the end of the world but do you have to pay for a full day each day? An...

Confirmation of directions to scout hut

Hi I'll be arriving lateish on Friday night* but don't know the best directions to the scout hut. I found your Google map link . I assume that Spencer Road is the road we want to get to, but what do we do for parking? Park on Spencer road or is there parking at the hut? Cheers Andy * this is a chang...

Tourny costs are an interesting debate. I personally don't mind if a TD pockets some money. Why should they not charge for the time it costs to run a tournament? If they don't want to, then I applaud them, but if they want to make a little bit of cash in return for countless hours of organisation, t...

On another note, how great was it to see Pete, Seonaidh, Hamish, Sean and Issac again? I wish they would/could tour more regularly! They certainly made Saturday night in the clubhouse very entertaining. For those who were there, the phrase "finding the corn" will forever have a very special meaning...

I like the island on #6 (I know it's not new but I think it works really well. I heard a few people grumbling that the far OB was too close to the pin. I disagree - with the OB line close to the pin, it means that just having a big arm is not enough. You need to have a big arm *and* have the finess...

It was the "pfft" in the second post that made me think your toys were being thrown. Your first post was very reasonable.

So what were the thoughts on the course changes? Gutted to have missed it, allthough hopefully the guilt card i've got to play on Beth now means I might make Burnlaw and Croydon.... I liked the OB lake on the 17th. It forced me to layup and it seemd to force more errors from those who think their a...

In my day post-tournament we used to discuss the merits of the course, how smoothly the event was run, the great shots we played and the ones that got away. I guess I never realised that a vote for Best TD could hinge on critical sandwich fillings like Tuna Mayo or Coronation Chicken. I better have...

I love the baguette option - but, then, I'll pretty much eat any filling. Steve - don't throw your toys out of the pram! I am sure Dunc, Jesse's and Westy's responses were made in the same constructively toned manner that your original point was made. It seems quite straight forward to me: - I now k...

Hi
Am thinking about evening food plans for saturday night. Does anyone know if there are any pizza/indians that would deliver to QP?
