Re: European Championships 2012

Something not quite right with this. The high/low hole scores are correct, but the totals at the end appear to simply be the player's best and worst rounds. So for me the Golden round is a 59 and the Brown is an 82  I had an inkling something wasn't right. it might take me a while to get rou...

Gold and Brown rounds now available:

Gold = the best round based on the best performance each player managed on each hole
Brown = the worst round.

Derek: very consistent
Jester: all over the place!

Re: Don't waste tour time and money with discs you can't thr

Couldn't agree more. That's why I still throw a Beast.

[I realise there's a very obvious smart-arse comment along the lines of: "But Andy, the Beast is too fast for you"]

Re: Introduction Days

When are you doing the demo days, neil? I'm up in harrogate for two weeks in august - could come along and help, possibly.

And would love to play some golf as well!

Nice commentary Jester. I'm looking forward to seeing the park without leaves!

And as always, your map is a pleasure to look at!

Re: To the ultimate players amongst us

You do what's necessary. There have always been players able to throw crazy shots. You'd see some ridiculous things thrown in indoor games - very entertaining to see knives, blades, etc, thrown the length of the pitch. The risk is that your receiver might not be able to catch it. You have to gauge w...

Re: BDGA Tour 7 - Croydon Cylone 2011

My OB analysis: ... This is cool stuff. It will definitely be interesting next time we collect some data to get the ratings of players (PDGA number from the scorecard would suffice, and then we can use Google spreadsheet scraping functions (ImportHTML) for the rating. Let's be honest, our Divisions...

Re: BDGA Tour 7 - Croydon Cylone 2011

Bruce Based on your comments, I'd change my own thoughts to agree, that yes, I guess it is a fair challenge. I do wonder why so many players go for glory, knowing that almost half the attempts will end up with a bogey. Over four rounds, you might go 2+3+4+4=13. If you played safe, you'd go 3+3+3+3=1...

Re: BDGA Tour 7 - Croydon Cylone 2011

Looking at hole 5, the numbers amaze me. Anyone can bitch and moan that "the OB was too punishing". That might even be true (I actually agree, I think it was too punishing). But if that's the case, nobody forces you to try and make the basket . Forty-one percent of Open player attempts on hole 5 wer...

Mark.A.D wrote:on hole 9, the adv ams had the best scores of all divisions, but do the figures include every round of every player in each division?
There were two or three lost/missing cards in the Adv Ams and Int Ams, so yes, the data is incomplete.

Re: BDGA Tour 7 - Croydon Cylone 2011

I'll be really interested to see the scoring spread for 5, having played it and seeing comments. Some kind of stat of score vs rating would be cool, I reckon there'll be a proper 'hockey stick' effect Sorry - don't have ratings in my data. I only have Hole number, score, and Division. It would have...

Re: BDGA Tour 7 - Croydon Cylone 2011

Great event everyone - excellently organised and a great buzz ahead of the event helped greatly. Feedback on the holes: Summary: the course is great. Hole 2 - a great improvement Hole 4 - i hated it. But that's down to my inability to play it (7,6,5,6 - ouch). It's a fantastic golf hole that stays t...

Re: BDGA Tour 7 - Croydon Cylone 2011

I'm most excited about the course. The changes look fantastic and the work-of-art course map is a great teaser.

Hole 9 is going to be comedy. Can't wait to see how many people try to throw big only to go into the huge OB.

Re: BDGA Tour 7 - Croydon Cylone 2011

The survey of the new holes has been completed and the data added to the table. The course notes have been tweaked to be as clear as possible. As ever I’ve checked it over many times but please read through, compare with the map and let me know of any inconsistences. How many hours does it take to ...
