Totally with you on the Baseball
Great write-ups James.
Brings back lots of great memories. I hope I get to play there again one day.

I'd certainly like to attend, but have to find someone to staff QP before I can confirm.

Re: BDGA#11 - Burnlaw Battle for Bertha - 4th/5th October

I don't know about the height and state of repair of the dry stone wall on new 14, but as with other crossings on the course, I'd be very happy to see steps taken (or literally added :-) ) to minimise the risk of damage to players and walls. I know it's not an intended crossing, but throws will cros...

Re: Important - BDGA AGM

Now is the time to set a date and venue for the BDGA AGM Now is also the time to review what is being done under the banner of the BDGA. We have some active clubs making good progress, there is always chat on the Forum, Phil is on the case with the Tour, Bruce keeps powerstats rolling when TD's prov...

Re: BDGA#10 - QP Open - 20/21 Sept

The PDGA website shows 41 people registered so far. Less than 2 weeks to go now folks, so get yourselves registered now. All Ams get a Discraft tournament disc, which looks great. The course is in great shape, and James and I will ensure that it is in tip-top condition for the 20th QP Open. I'm arra...

Re: BDGA #9 Croydon Cyclone Sept 6/7th

I booked a room with double bed in the nearby Flexistay South Park Aparthotel for £57 for Saturday night including self service breakfast, but if anybody wants to buy me out on that I have an alternative accommodation option that I could take up.

Re: BDGA#10 - QP Open - 20/21 Sept

I was seriously considering installing concrete tees for the holes that are liable to flooding, but I have decided to see what results can be obtained with jet-washing, so today I've engaged a contractor to give all the tees a good clean up. If that works well then I might invest in getting my own e...

Re: BDGA#10 - QP Open - 20/21 Sept

Thanks for the suggestion Matt, the QP website has been updated. While I'm here, let me just say that the Clinic are still closing their access road at the end of the day, so the only parking is on the QP grounds. I have identified a bit more space that can accommodate another 4 or 5 cars, but parki...

Re: A Healthy Debate

Will having payouts in Open give a direct boost to the sport? – not immediately, the same people will play, but just go home with a bit more cash. In the longer term it will entice some to make more serious effort, particularly youngsters I think, because £100 1st prize would be a relatively big de...

Fantastic job by Phil, Tom and all at Croydon and beyond. Thoroughly enjoyable. An organisational triumph!
Big thanks from me to everyone who gave their time and energy to make it all happen.

Re: European Championships 2014 - Geneva - 18-24 Aug

Are any messages getting through from the organisers on this? Should things be happening like payment for tournament, accommodation, travel plans?? The website shows our team as including Jester, Chris and Charlie O'Brien who declared that they are not competing. I spoke to Jon Tweed yesterday and h...

Re: PDGA EuroTour 2014

Strudengau Open comes very highly recommended by me... and anyone who has been there. You could kind of say that it is Austria's equivalent to Whitcombe in many ways. It's off the beaten track, fantastic topography, huge panoramic views, lovely old farmhouse buildings, full of character, great atmos...

Re: London Calling, British open 3/4th May

I booked a twin room at the Coombe Lodge Premier Inn, so there's a spare bed if anybody wants to split the cost. £76 gets you accommodation only for Friday and Saturday night. You can buy breakfast and dinner separately on site.

Re: London Calling, British open 3/4th May

I'm with Bruce on the final 9, don't go for jungle holes just because you can. If there's some fabulous hole that you can only play as jungle because it cuts across a few fairways in the regular layout, then sure, go for it. Combining 2 good birdie chance par 3's just to make a long par 4 may not ad...

oooph, that's a strong open division! Not sure about this Jostein Tweedy Gundersen fella though, I've heard he's a bit sh*t Any chance of me just playing the Sunday and joining the bottom Open group? Edit* Really hoping Jostein Tweedy Gundersen is the big headed fool or I've just insulted someone I...

Re: BDGA #2 - QP Chilly Chuck 2014 - 22/23 Feb

Dan and Campers, Unfortunately we don't have access to the gate by the 18th tee as the Clinic's barrier is half way up their drive. The barrier will go down sometime Friday evening and stay closed until Monday. If you are coming in daylight on Friday, you could dump your kit by the gate, but would h...

Re: BDGA #2 - QP Chilly Chuck 2014 - 22/23 Feb

** PARKING ** Parking is limited to the gravel car park, so please car share where possible, and please park really close to the next car. Let passengers out before you park. Unfortunately we are not able to use the Clinic's car park, and the grass overflow parking area is not usable. Course Conditi...
