Re: MODS #10 - Quarry Park 20th November 2016

Just a few days to go to Quarry Park MODS, still plenty of time to sign up. We will be playing some version of the modified black course, depending on how the drainage works go final layout could be subject to change on the morning. As it stands we will probably add hole into the layout, extend hole...

Re: Announcement 131116

Cross posting from facebook with edits sa this is the cause of my negativity! I have a lack of faith in anything forced when the forcing is for no good reason. Why force it? I genuinely think you have enough benefits with the new system especially with Robbs lovely club idea for more than the curren...

Re: Announcement 131116

OK, then I urge anyone wanting to play in the events I run next year and wants them to be part of the British Tour to vote for the old option B until a better one is thought up and we can vote again. If you are based in Scotland and the North and plan to play in the events there it would also be a g...

Re: Announcement 131116

Option C. Sanctioning fee £10 per tournament, £20 for two day events. Paid by TD Tournament tax £1 per head per day paid by td Membership £10 per year. Membership benefits - must be a member to compete at the BDGA flagship events (matchplay, championships etc. to be part of tour points race, to be p...

Re: Announcement 131116

people involved with their national organisation. This IMO is the mistake. Most people don't care or have any wish to be involved in decision making, in voting in the organisation of the sport, they just want to play and it's great that we are big enough now to be able to facilitate that without ev...

Re: Announcement 131116

But the players will have that insurance at events anyway. If it was insurance for throwing a disc in any park at any time then it would be great value similar to the Finnish set up. TD tax at my best attended three events has been £40, so a £30 "saving" on each - £90 total 30 of the 40 players were...

Re: Announcement 131116

Posted on Facebook as well: Sorry to be the voice of negativity yet again and most of this stuff is excellent and has obviously involved a huge amount of work but Option A is not a good fit for the majority of entrants to MODS events or for the other events I am planning further afield for next year...

Re: Club league idea

MODs system works pretty well and is easy to administer, it gives points for showing up but only in less well attended divisions/events which would encourage attendance to smaller events. Normally takes me about 20 minutes to put the numbers together afterwards so not too onerous a task (no, this is...

MODS #12 - Cold Ashby again! Season closer and awards meal

This will be the final MODS of the 2016 season with an awards dinner at Cold Ashby bar and restaurant afterwards. This will be a British Tour Championship Qualifier for the 2017 season. You may have been wondering what had happened to Cold Ashby after all looked set for a course in June. Just as we ...

MODS #11 Markeaton Park Derby

December 10th will be MODS #11 at Markeaton Park in Derby - Registration and other details to come once all confirmed with the council It's a stunning course layout, similar set up to Bedworth but longer, lots of elevation, less nasty rough and stands of beautiful mature trees in what was once the p...

Re: BDGA 2017 Tour proposal

Since it is an experimental type of year I would rather think the Bdga would allow the Euro Tour to be included in '17 to see if anyone is excluded or complains given the ET TD has tools to deal with such issues. (If given the opportunity again) We could host a 3 day event for up to 150 players eas...

Re: BDGA 2017 Tour proposal

British Tour Championships - will the BDGA have any say over pricing for this? (wouldn't want people to get priced out of the deciding comp of the year!) If there are going to be three flagship BDGA events, 2x of which are qualifiers only it feels like the BDGA should have final say and ownership of...

Re: BDGA 2017 Tour proposal

Great stuff, thanks Phil! For a TD running the event tour champs event if you haven't filled out by a certain stage would it be ok to open to non BDGA members and/or only have the Juniors and womens spaces protected to a certain date, beyond that it's a free for all? Or will this be a totally close...
