Dunbar in the summer? Yes please! I'll see what I can do to make it to this one for sure. I'm guessing there are qualification criteria that'll be posted at some point right?

Re: Club league idea
Yep, fair points Robb. I guess if the point is mainly just to try to increase BDGA memberships then your idea is all good mate. Sorry, not trying to be difficult or mollycoddling

Re: Club league idea
But the thing is Robb that by making it a system that is so heavily in favour of the bigger, more established clubs like QP, it actually (in my mind anyway) does the opposite of incentivising clubs to grow their Rec and Junior player based and send as many of their players as possible. For example, ...

Re: Club league idea
See I think splitting it into divisions might actually make it less inclusive overall as clubs who have a fairly even split over the divisions would stand little chance whereas a club with only a few Open and Ads but an army of Ints and Juniors could really challenge clubs with many more higher rate...

Re: Club league idea
I'd say that every player should be awarded points for participating and again it should be done on a sliding scale e.g. Junior & Rec 5pts IntAm & Ladies 3pts AdvAm 2pts Open 1pt In terms of points for finishing i still think a similar sliding scale would work best being weighted more at the lower d...

Re: Club league idea
This is a really good idea and could actually have a significant impact on the growth of the sport, the UK tour and may actually provide a few surprising season winners. I say this because if instead of using a sliding scale of points working from the top division down, the scale worked from the bot...

Re: BDGA 2017 Tour proposal
Great idea, I hope this gets approved at the agm. Being pedantic. Tour structure does not need membership approval, there doesn't have to be a vote on this. To qualify that, im not saying this is a done deal, this is now the opportunity for all to air views, concerns and thoughts all to be taken in...

Re: BDGA tour #10 Mendip Masters
Weirdly a reply I posted earlier doesn't seem to have worked.... So first off, thanks Matt for taking the time to explain. I can understand the rationale as you've explained it and like other people have mentioned, think it probably is good value however it's simply out of my budget range :( I also ...

Re: BDGA Tour Team Competition. Forum/FB experiment
I too would agree there are probably bigger items to focus on but that being said, this type of additional side competition could have multiple benefits; it could be seen as a way for clubs to increase their numbers and ensure their players are improving and, more importantly, making the transition ...

Re: Study the master
Thanks for dropping this Jester as I wouldn't have seen it otherwise. In terms of "technique" though, I'd say this video highlights the importance of putting more than anything else as there were a good number of time when he wasn't even close to being inside the circle which, on a course as short a...

Re: A Healthy Debate
Personally, I think the whole ratings thing is a bit naff anyway and is just a bit gimmicky. I mean, if DG wants to be so different to ball golf that it chooses to use a fundamentally different system to rank player ability, why bother even using the word "golf" in the sport's title, counting "strok...

Re: A Healthy Debate
I read it Seamus and thought you had a great point. Sadly though, I don'treally have the experience to be able to make any significant comment, sorry. If you wanted my comment though, I'd say that I don't see why there should be any kind of ceiling for a round rating. Maybe I've misunderstood how it...

Re: Growing Disc Golf in the UK
For me, a £50 sub would be fine but I don't see it being something new players would swallow until they're sure it's going to be for them. And yes, the subs for other clubs IS more but that doesn't mean we have to increase ours to match. One of the biggest draws to this sport is its low cost. I stil...

Re: Growing Disc Golf in the UK
Hi Neil. I fully agree that making the post a paid one would be a great idea and I believe should definitely help in terms of allowing the post holder to justify spending the required amount of time fulfilling these roles whereas I understand it can be difficult for pure volunteers. What I don't nec...
