Re: BDGA 2017 Tour proposal

Questions may have already been answered so apologies if I've missed this info. Why would I want my event to be BDGA tour sanctioned? Is there any fee to BDGA for it being tour sanctioned. What are the benefits to a club offering a BDGA sanctioned event? As far as I am aware SDG only has one current...

Re: Inclusiveness

I believe we pick a team of players who have not only shown consistency over the year but also a commitment to British Disc Golf and their reward for this is to represent GB at international tournaments. No. You are rewarding people who show a commitment to the BDGA Tour not British Disc Golf. They...

Re: BDGA Tour Team Competition. Forum/FB experiment

I thought the same, but on review the last user to join joined on 11th June, before this thread started. So not one of the 100+ Facebook users who have viewed the post on there has even attempted to join the forum... Perhaps because they had nothing to offer on the subject in that post. In reality ...

Re: BDGA Tour Team Competition. Forum/FB experiment

I like the idea. It would need perhaps a more formal club structure to be in place? Us smaller clubs who often have overlap would perhaps find it harder. Would we find better players opting to go to perceived bigger clubs where there was overlap or would they go for the Faroe Isles option to ensure ...

Re: Conflict of interest policy

At school we have to sign a declaration of COI every year. It is not released publicy. However members of the school governing body have their COI's published on the school website.

Re: What is the BDGA?

Well said Rich Hatton. I have not been a member for the last 2 seasons for similar reasons to you (family and limited chance to go on tour). Currently the BDGA appears to be excluding anyone who isn't a touring member with nothing to entice those members in. Perhaps the small government model would ...

Re: Tour format idea

Had a chat on the way back from Hyzer about some of this with James. I do like the idea of four "grand slam" events. I don't think this needs to mean less 2 day events though. People will still go play events across the country at good courses of they are well run and worthwhile. The points system i...

BDGA Tour Development Player Consultation Questionnaire

A group of us are currently looking at the future of the BDGA Tour. As part of this process we feel it is important to consult with as many UK based disc golfers as possible. This questionnaire is the first part of that consultation process and will be used to inform any future discussions we have. ...

We have just sorted our public liability insurance for this year but would be interested in the future depending on price of course.

Re: Growing Disc Golf in the UK

Lots of interesting ideas in this thread. I wonder if it is worth revisiting the development mind map a few of us worked on last winter http://mind42.com/mindmap/29f76fe5-f270-407f-82b3-73d814ff7081?rel=url I think there are some points in this that need following up. Have we achieved any of the thi...

Re: BDGA Tour 2014

Clearly more golf is good but Tom's suggestion that most people stay on the island on the Monday/Tuesday has tended to be the case over the past few years. On the plus side schools are still on holiday! No they are not. Back to school on the Tuesday so once again I miss out on Mull depite it being ...

The result of my doubles against the Phils was 1Up to them. Took it to the final hole but missed our putts to half the match :(

Re: Hyzer Cup 2013 -2014 First leg November 3rd

Is there anything worse in The Hyzer Cup than being last in the hat with the crushing inevitability of a match up with Dark Mavis. You'll have to distract him by carrying. A fridge round with you. He'll be so busy regularly checking it he'll lose his focus.

Re: Basingstoke Disc Golf

Definitely interested in hearing more about BDGA affiliated insurance. We are getting to the point in Sussex where we need to start thinking about it especially if we are going to start running tournaments. There is a huge amount of grass roots development going on at the moment and I think the BDGA...
