Selection Committee for WFDF 2017 WTDGC

The WFDF World Team Disc Golf Championships are taking place at Essex this August and we need to select a UK team to take part. Following our new selection committee guidelines (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MUti1kRMk_EwmZD7TdhQcQpu9XMz1IjpF14lwbz6mzg/pub), we need to form a selection committe...

For those not on Facebook, here's the registration. Don't sleep on it - only 14 places left at last count, and it only opened last night!

Re: BDGA Sanctioned Leagues

Hi Cooper, you will struggle to find an answer to this by searching the forum because I'm pretty sure no-one has asked it before, and we've only just changed to our new tour structure, so they haven't had long to (not) ask it. Unfortunately we hadn't considered this so I can't give you an 'easy' str...

Re: WFDF 2017 World Freestyle and Overall Championships

Robb, you should let people know exactly what categories are going to be open for registration, which days they'll be on, how much the entry will cost, etc. Is there a limit to the number of entrants for each category? Can people compete in more than one category? What should people be practising if...

Re: 2017 Tour Schedule - registered events

Hi Sue,

there's a limit to how much info can be included on that Tour page for each event, but I am trying to add the registration/website info as and when I have it. For many events there isn't anything more than a placeholder for the moment!

Re: Bdga National Match Play Championships

I'm really sorry this has developed in this way and I hope it will not fester into a full-blown row with permanent negative repercussions. The core of the BDGA Nationals overall event is the Top 16 matchplay event. It has grown organically to include additional aspects to cater for those outside the...

Re: Trophy only fees

Hi Trevor, it's a reasonable request, for sure. I think historically MPM and FPO have been used, not because they're technically 'Pro' divisions, but just because they're the highest divisions available for those classifications and therefore open to all (within the classification of Master or Women...

As a teacher, I'm wholly opposed to this, unless they all happen in the holidays!

Re: Bdga National Match Play Championships

Hi Seamus, Phil is extremely busy with work but I've discussed this with him and am responding partly on his behalf. Firstly I want to make very clear that we are grateful to you for stepping up to run the Nationals matchplay tournament. However, we do not wish to make changes to the 'top 16' part o...

Re: Bdga National Match Play Championships

I really did mean all previous champions be invited. Well, I'm afraid that doesn't really work - as the tournament necessarily has a limited number of places, if all previous winners get an automatic invitation, it ends up with more and more of those places taken up only by previous winners. Eventu...

Vested interest there, Dave? :)

Presume you mean the previous year's champion; not all the previous champions!

Re: Bdga National Match Play Championships

A clarification Seamus, I think you're suggesting the Sunday event is strokeplay? If so I can't see any reason why this couldn't be an event in the new BDGA season, the Champs are the season closer so any event after that could qualify. This seems quite an attractive format to me, you have effectiv...

Re: Bdga National Match Play Championships

Hi Seamus, thanks for taking on the organisation of this. For the Nationals, changing it from top 16 to top 8 will likely disappoint one or two folks (perhaps up to 8 people will be disappointed?!) but if you really want it all done in one day then I guess that's the way to do it. Perhaps there was ...

BDGA Recognised DG Companies

This became a hot topic last year. The BDGA from time-to-time receives requests, often about course installation, but also about purchasing discs. In a bid to dampen any controversy, our current policy is to remain neutral and simply pass the requests on to the DG companies that we're aware of. To t...

Re: BDGA 2017 Tour proposal

I've put them in, with a slightly different icon to indicate that they are a bit different. I'm not sure what it would mean for the WOC to be BDGA 'sanctioned'* but we certainly support the event and will hope to avoid clashes.
