Re: New Team Format - Single Double Triples

Could this not mean though that one players drive might never be taken? I.e. Player 1 and Player 2 alternate being the single and the chosen double. Think you need to apply a standard lockout rule i.e. You must take a players drive (either as a single or part of a double) once every three holes.

Surely you should also pay for Bruce's fee as a sign that he is the better player.

Re: BDGA #6 CROYDON CYCLONE & BRITISH OPEN 18-19 MAY 2013

Some good questions from Jonnie Burden which I will summarise here: Q: Is the OB area on hole 1 in play off the drive of hole 17? A: I have never seen anyone hit that OB area off the drive of 17 but yes, it would be in play with standard OB rules. Not off 17, but someone managed it off the tee of 1...

Re: BDGA #6 CROYDON CYCLONE & BRITISH OPEN 18-19 MAY 2013

Hole #7 Not sure if I can see what the designers of this hole are trying to achieve with this - I've never really understood this hole at all. Can anyone suggest what options there are to entice players at this hole, please? All I can see is a driver/mid-range to somewhere between the old and new d...

Re: BDGA #6 CROYDON CYCLONE & BRITISH OPEN 18-19 MAY 2013

Thanks, Rich, I missed converting the yards figures into metres. Will correct that. As to how it's played, something similar to this new design for 7 was played at the Croydon Masters event a couple of weeks ago but I'm afraid I wasn't there to report how it was played. We played this design for 7 ...

Your best hot run

What is your best hot run of birdies/eagles in a competitive round?

Has to be consectutive birdies/eagles.

For me it was going 2,2,3,2 over holes 16-1 at Burnlaw a few years ago. Then proceeded to wimp out on a makeable put on hole 2.

Re: Hyzer Cup 2011 - 2012 2nd leg

Jeez, there was a 2 point margin over two legs, that's basically two missed putts, or one extra experienced player being able to make it on the day. Ain't broke, don't fix... This. All the talk on here (even from Croydon players) was for Croydon to get an absolute pasting. That didn't happen. The f...

Stats updated: http://tour.bdga.org.uk/ Before anyone else mentions it, I realised that Duncan played Open at Burnlaw and therefore should have played Open all season. Dunc hadn't realised that the British Open was on the BDGA tour this year and assumed he could play down as in previous years when ...

Re: BDGA Tour #2 - Croydon Cyclone 2012 - Mar 3/4th

You know with the Cyclone coming up I was wondering what a score would be on #2 if you missed the mandos on your second shot but you made it in! I've got it now. Par(4). Yup: drive (1 shot), approach and miss mando (1 + 1 penalty shot), go to DZ and thrown approach which goes in (1 shot). Total 4 s...

Sunrise is 07:33, need to tee off no later than 0830. As mentioned already it would be really helpful to see the course notes and OBs up here for questions prior to Saturday morning. Apart from that the invite says 930am tee off and I know there are people coming down on Sat morning. Maybe a rein i...
