Re: BDGA Tour 5 - Scottish Open Mull 2011

Still hoping that John & I may be able to make it (Ben in the middle of exams). But it depends on whether I recover from injury in time - fell on a rocky river bank while in pursuit of a silver tourist and popped my right shoulder, ligament damage I think :( Will make last min decision - may just tu...

Re: BDGA Tour 3 - Burnlaw Snowbow 2011

Ben Bruce is going to absolutely kill it in future if he keeps playing, the guns on that boy are immense. I think Ben's problem this weekend was that he was too busy having fun with the new guns to play sensibly - when I told him to rein things in a little & play it safe like his Dad (why use a Gat...

Re: Finals in BDGA Tour events

Scrapping Finals in return for more golf for all would get my vote, even if this would mean an earlier start on Sunday to allow for two full rounds (or one of 27?), so things didn't finish too late.

Re: BDGA Tour 3 - Burnlaw Snowbow 2011

Great to hear you'll be back on tour, although not looking forward to Ben pushing me further back in amstats  Who knows how good Ben might be now - since he last played he's two foot taller, covered in hair and with a voice deeper than Darth Vader. In our first practice session at the w/e his ...

Re: BDGA Tour 3 - Burnlaw Snowbow 2011

Can't believe it's been 2 years (Burnlaw Snowbow 09), but we're back for a few events this year. So count us in for the Snowbow.
Looking forward to catching up with some old friends then :)

Photos

I've uploaded some photos - take the link at the bottom of the homepage on the highlandflingers website. (And check out the Mull info while you're there!) I apologise that I wasn't quite as prolific as usual - I only covered the Finals - and it's difficult to get motivated to take pix of the same ol...

My nominations are: Best TD / event: Croydon or Brit Open - both were faultless examples of teamwork and organisation (Catch the )Spirit of the Game: Chris O'Brien - unparallelled enthusiasm for all things frisbee. Contribution: Rich Wood - he narrowly missed out last year for all the work done in C...

Sadly events have conspired to prevent me and the boys attending Burnlaw this time :( . Will be sorry to miss the Chris vs Jesse showdown.
Have fun in the mud

Well, for the last 3 events I've been TD (Mull x 2, + St Andrews) I've ended up out of pocket  ! And that's without offering lunches... Course costs have been the killer (£5 per player per day at St A, and a generous "Green Fee" payable to Gremlin for Mull), and low turn out leading to shrinkin...

Typical Brits abroad - go to a foreign country, get p*ssed and urinate in the town square  I see Jesse has one of those new "auto shutter" cameras - just turn it on and it takes photos every 5 seconds until it runs out of battery... (some excellent ones in there J :D , amongst some very...

Loads of pix on the ec website. Print this one out and stick it to your front door on 31st October - guaranteed to frighten away those pesky Halloween trick-or-treaters :)

Pretty neat R1 score from Dunc at 67 (+6), two ahead of Jesse and fully ten clear of Andy  . Who'll win the GB "Ams" at EC08??

BDGA Board Vacancy - Treasurer

After a couple of years, I’m stepping down as Treasurer at the AGM next month. I have genuinely enjoyed serving the disc golfing community in this capacity, but believe it to be best to open up a Board position to new blood, with different ideas, in order to maintain the momentum of development in t...

Re: BDGA National Tour #9 - Burnlaw Equinox

...are there are any other positions to be fought for at Burnlaw? Well, the Junior title is still up for grabs. Wee Ben (Am 8th) has an advantage of just 18 points over James (9th). A special performance by James and a failure by Ben to show up (as St Andrews) could tip it James' way. And I still h...
